Description
Binoculars allow improved vision at greater
distances than would unaided eyes. Unlike a monocular
telescope, a binocular gives users a three-dimensional image: the
two views, presented from slightly different viewpoints to each of
the viewer's eyes, produce a merged view with depth perception.
There is no need to close or obstruct one eye to avoid confusion, as
is usual with monocular telescopes.
Binoculars are useful only during periods
of good visibility (daylight and good weather). Characters equipped
with binoculars and who have a good field of view have their
Observation asset increased by 1. If they spot a group before it
spots them, double the range of the encounter. Binoculars have no
effect in woods or smoke.
