This device generates a small pocket dimension.  If the PUG is installed within a vehicle, objects placed within the pocket universe do not count against the volume or mass of the vehicle, however, the generator itself does count against these values.

Sensors, weapons, communicators, or drives that require interaction with the outside are rarely usable from within the pocket universe unless they themselves work across dimensions, but extra-dimensional quarters, cargo holds, or fuel tanks are common applications. Because the pocket universe is simply a pinched-off piece of space-time, wormholes and stargates will function perfectly well within it; indeed the dimensional interface is itself a wormhole.

Each pocket universe requires a dimensional interface (the generator) installed in real space.  If the interface is damaged or powered down, the contents of the pocket universe pop back into real space (which can be pretty devastating if the pocket universe is fairly large).  Sometimes this is done to renovate or upgrade the interior.  Because the pocket universe is simply a part of real space that has been pinched off, it can be accessed using the Quantum Proto-Dimensions of its parent universe.

Note:  This device is based upon the "Extradimensional Interior" option in GURPS Vehicles Expansion 1, page 25.  It has been rated here for use with FF&S.

Design
The values for the dimensional interface are per displacement ton (14m³) of the pocket universe.  A wire frame is built around the volume to be enclosed.  The interiors are often built-out in much the same way as spacecraft before being pinched off into the pocket universe.
