Description
A wooden wall, with wheels for
mobility, and a slit for archery. It is typically 1.8 meters
wide, 2.4 meters high, and 10 centimeters thick. The mantlet is slanted backward at a slight angle.
The face is often covered with green hides to
reduce the risk of fire. Mantlets can be
constructed at the site of a siege from materials
available. The values to the right are for
pre-fabricated mantlets. Two men can push
the mantlet forward at a rate of 2 meters per
turn.
Mantlets are typically built at the locations
they will be used (provided wood or similar materials are
available). However, they can be pre-manufactured and hauled
to the scene.
