Description
An early effort at a tactical radio. The
mass of the radio is too much for one man to carry; it is usually
mounted on a wagon-type contraption, with one or more batteries
either included in it, or mounted on another wagon. It is also
possible to mount the radio on a vehicle (should one be available)
and have it run directly off the vehicle's power plant.
These radios are typically issued at company
level. Also, they found a role with early special forces
units.
