House Rules

Stock NPCs
Stock NPCs represent the nameless background characters populating the multiverse.  Stock NPCs are never individually named, and typically serve as the red shirts, hordes, cannon fodder, or victims the characters encounter in their adventures.

Standard NPCs
Standard NPCs are more detailed than stock NPCs, but are not nearly as fleshed-out as detailed NPCs.  Standard NPCs represent the hirelings, contacts, and occasional enemies characters may encounter.  As such, Standard NPCs may (or may not) be individually named, rather than just being a description.  Unlike Stock NPCs, Standard NPCs have motivations.

Detailed NPCs
Detailed NPCs are full-fledged characters just like PCs.  Detailed NPCs always have names, even if they are unpronounceable, and typically serve as the compatriots or chief enemies of the PCs.
