Elephant (African)

Description

African elephants are large, and fairly intelligent, herd animals found on the sub-Saharan savannahs of Africa.

African elephant society is matriarchal and herds will typically be composed of females and their young. A small herd of one to four individuals may be made up entirely of young males. The latter are more likely to attack than females (A9), especially during rutting season.
