Description

The marshes and bogs of the Benton Peninsula are home to one of the largest sauropods on the planet, Apatasaurus bentoni. For the longest time, the creature was known only from incomplete specimens (the logistic difficulties in bringing back so large a creature from so remote a locale were great), but measurements of living and deceased specimens place its length in excess of 11 meters from nose to tail.
