No Neck

Description

The No Neck (so named because its head appears to blend into its body) is a carnivore native to the same world that produced the Grumble Beast. Indeed, the Grumble Beast makes up a fair portion of its diet. The No Neck is bipedal with no indication of forelimbs (the latter have completely atrophied away). It's skin is pebbled like a lizards, and a mane of fur runs down its spine.

No Necks have two social structures. The first consists of a dominant female, one or two younger females, and their offspring. The second consists of single males. The two groups are mutually exclusive unless it's mating time, when males will begin to filter into the territories controlled by the females. Males will often fight to the death to have a chance to mate. After mating the males will quickly leave an area lest they be hunted and killed by the females. Juvenile males will stay with the female group for the first couple of years of their lives before being driven out.
