NPC Encounters
1-17: Native Hunting Party:
The party encounters 1D20 natives on a hunt beyond the Great Wall.
The natives are uniformly hostile to outsiders and will attack if
they outnumber the PCs party. Natives are considered
Experienced NPCs, and 10 percent of the party will be Veterans
(leaders).
18: Shipwreck
Survivors: The party
comes across 1D6 castaways who have managed to survive the local
wildlife by fortifying a ruined tower or cave. They will join
the party and act as guides provided they are rescued and returned
to civilization. The survivors, because of their long
experience on the island among hostile natives and animals are
Veteran NPCs.
19: Scientific
Expedition: The party
runs across a scientific expedition studying the fauna of the
island, or the ancient ruins. There will be 2D20 members of
the party. If the party numbers less than 20, they've had a
serious run in with the local wildlife or the natives, and the
survivors will be looking for assistance in returning to their
vessel or, if they came via flyer, rescue (consider the flyer to
have been destroyed). The 1D6 scientists will be Green or
Trained NPCs (50 percent chance of either), and their escorts will
be Experienced with Veteran leadership (10 percent of the escort
force).
20: Hunting Party:
The party encounters 2D20 members of a hunting party. These
individuals will be heavily armed and are on Skull Island trapping
various dinosaurs or large arthropods for zoos or private game
parks. Depending upon the nature of the PCs party the hunters
could be either hostile or welcoming. If
the party numbers less than 20, they've had a serious run in with
the local wildlife or the natives, and the survivors will be looking
for assistance in returning to their vessel or, if they came via
flyer, rescue (consider the flyer to have been destroyed). The
hunting party will consist of Experienced NPCs, while 10 percent
will be Veterans.
