Cthulhu Mythos

In the 1920s and 30s the American writer, H.P. Lovecraft, wrote a number of horror stories with a somewhat consistent background that included ancient alien races and the threat of their return to reclaim the Earth as their own.  The races in many cases were so alien that the simple knowledge of their existence could drive men to insanity.

Other writers took up the mantle of the Cthulhu Mythos as it came to be known, adding in additional, sometimes supernatural, elements.  The Mythos thus includes horror, fantasy and science fiction elements.

Cthulhu by Gaslight

The Cthulhu Mythos set in 1890s London.  Many of the concepts for this campaign can also be found in Dark Ęther, though the latter is specifically set in the Space 1889 universe and the Mythos is set in ours.

Call of Cthulhu

The Cthulhu Mythos set at the time Lovecraft was writing: the 1920s and 1930s.

Cthulhu: 2000

The Cthulhu Mythos in the 21st century.  This campaign is not as dark as Dark Conspiracy, though many of the same themes are touched upon.  Because of the increasing power of weaponry available to humanity, the various non-human races are increasingly reluctant to make their presences known.

Dark Stars
